I think Alex is on painkillers... This is his blog entry from today, and is rather incoherent. But I think I have the gist of his message in my poor translation...

My very poor translation...
I am ecribiendo since one of those you plot horrible of the airport, of that that put me cutro euro and they leave you to write some seconds.now mism lame the avion for London. I have twisted me the ankle yesterday, I have it venddo, but I am alive.that badly writes this, God. tomorrow we film the sequences of sex between Elijah and Leonor. I hope everything goes well.


As I said, with the incredible run-ons in his typing today, I think poor Alex must be on painkillers because of his ankle. I had to guess at where to separate the words for the translation, and still can't get it right. Honestly, I didn't even try with some of it. But I do feel confident of the last two sentences. :-)

Thanks for this, frodos_smile! Yes, it sounds as if the poor guy has twisted his ankle. So I hope it won't interfere with filming tomorrow's scenes which sound most fascinating! ;-) I hope, too, that there won't be anything happening to inhibit Elijah's performance & that the right chemistry will be there.

Thanks for the info. I'm a little surprised they are filming a sex scene. There is one in the book (which I finished a couple of days ago), but it's not integral to the plot and I didn't really think they'd bother putting it in. Although, come to think of it, there might be a reason (beyond making the fans happy). ;-)

Actually, there are a couple of sex scenes, but I agree they are not integral to the plot. Unless Alex is aiming for, perhaps, a heightened sense of suspicion toward certain characters? That's the only reason, other than adherence to the text, that I can think of for including this.

But who am I to second guess the director? ;-)

If I were an actress & had to do a sex scene for a movie, I can hardly imagine anything more inhibiting than having someone I knew watching me -- my SO in particular. It would probably make me feel all kind of guilty & unfaithful! ;-) I've never previously heard of actors' partners being around when sex scenes are being filmed in movies -- have you?

I'm writing from one those horrible machines at the aiport. The kind where you put in 4 Euros, and you can only write for a few seconds. Right now, I'm taking the plane to London. Venddo I'm thinking is for "vendado", bandaged. I took the "quemal escribe esto,dios" to be "how badly this thing writes" or, less literally, "It's really hard to write with this thing" and the typos are more the fault of the keyboard on the stupid airport computers than his injury.

Now who was it I was having a conversation with a few months back about ideally not being able to hold a pencil/pencil case under your boobs? ;-)

I have just awoke, I have slept well, thanks to the pharmacy that I have brought me to slopes, and attention: a ham to give him to Mr. Hurt, and to have him happy. A ham with two cojones, because I saw him with desires the other I gave and I have brought me a hoof five jots that me there is side a kidney and medium. And some cdés for Elijah. I have bought her Marlango and Jorge Drexler, so that hear what do, and be informed of the marvelous thing that is the woman with the one that works. This goes for the mother of Leonor. Not, that I tell it because I want!

Well, thanks for the translation -- I'm trying to imagine what kind of scenario would have kidney and a medium in it! ;-)

Seeing that food has been mentioned in the form of ham, I'm just guessing now but maybe "some cdés for Elijah" means "some crudités for Elijah". Hmmm -- sounds a bit ... crude! ;-D
