The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon

I've been getting alerts about this for days, but for people who don't get those, here is the news about the third part of the trilogy of games for which Elijah provides the voice of Spyro:
Sierra aren't scrimping on the voice talent either, with Elijah Wood, Gary Oldman, Christina Ricci, Blair Underwood, Mark Hamill and Wayne Brady rounding out an all-star voice cast.

Possible project?

Variety reports that the "Spyro" videogame franchise may get a bigscreen version:
( Body of article )
As it's being based on the trilogy of games in which Elijah voiced the little, purple guy (the second game having just been released), he is the logical choice to bring it to the big screen, I think, even though his name has not yet been connected with this. I can't say that I'm impressed with the choice of writers or producers, though, so it might be just as well if he gives this one a pass.

Elijah to voice Spyro again
Jun. 8th, 2007 08:58 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Elijah is reprising his role as Spyro (along with Gary Oldman as Ignitus) for a new game for Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. The article doesn't mention Gamecube (or the Wii, which would be a great platform for it), but given that this is the "second title in a planned trilogy," I suspect that other gaming platforms will again be included.
And to think that I deleted my Spyro icon...
EDIT: FTW! (That's: For The Wii. Heh.)

Cute interview

Elijah Wood: True Player
An interview about "Spyro" and the geeky world of videogames:
So much for standard celebrity perks like "World's Sexiest People" nominations, overenthusiastic groupies and champagne-soaked soirees. A nerd icon even before The Lord of the Rings trilogy made him a household Hobbit, actor Elijah Wood merely cemented his outsider status with geek-friendly cameos in later films like Sin City and Spy Kids 3D: Game Over.
( A pic of him doing the voicework )
