ambree40.livejournal.comThe film “Maniac” was shown at FrightFest in London and now an online magazine about the festival has come out with a picture of Elijah, in his role as Frank Zito, on the front page. The magazine contains an interview with Elijah where he talks about his interpretation of the character of Frank. Apparently, the interview was held when he was at Sitges, earlier this month. The file is in PDF format and downloadable. The relevant pages are pp.12-19. Here is the link

Khalfoun: (talking about the POV approach) ".... And Elijah Wood was fabulous because he was there all the time and he really became the camera. He'd guide us in a lot of the movement and I wanted Elijah's character and Elijah's creativity to impact the camera as well. It was an interesting experiment."
Interviewer: "That's cool to hear, I had wondered how much of the filming he was around for since he's off-camera so much."
Khalfoun: "Yeah, and to his credit he didn't have to come. He was scheduled for not even half of the shoots and he came every day, regardless. He understood that his performance was going to be reflected off the other actors, so it's smart not to have somebody else deliver the lines. A lot of things he said got reactions out of the other actors and it was important to the film. He's a filmmaker, not just an actor."

ambree40.livejournal.comAfter the conference call Elijah did last week for the promotion of Wilfred Season 2, there have been several articles about it, all with similar stories. Today, I found an article that was labeled “exclusive” (link). It covers the same topics that came out of the conference call but there was one paragraph that was new to me and that I thought was really interesting. It says a lot about Elijah's perception of himself and the people around him.

newleaf31.livejournal.comBack during the LotR years and just following, I was pretty assiduous about saving pictures, videos, and audio files of Elijah. In 2006, because constantly running into the stuff on my laptop bothered my then-boyfriend, I burned it all to CD-ROM and cleared my hard drive. Then, a couple of years ago, I was seized with a rare and inexplicable cleaning fit, during which I got rid of a bunch of discs that I could no longer use with my Mac. Imagine my horror when I discovered a short time later that my Elijah discs were gone. But this weekend, in the process of cleaning out my closet in preparation for moving house next month, I found them at the very back! Yay!
Because the vast majority of people who follow my blog on Tumblr were kids when LotR was released, I've been uploading a lot of old stuff there. But someone on Twitter (Lotte) asked me if I would post them in this community as well, because she'd lost a lot of her old Elijah-related files. I know many of y'all may not be Tumblr users, so I thought it seemed like a good idea. Mods, I'm not sure if it's okay to do this, so please let me know. If it's not, I will post these on my own journal.
