EOS 30D is not for professional photographer, also definitely not for beginners. I do not know those prices in United States. In Japan, EOS 30D is about $1500 and EF24-105mm Lens is about $1800. I remembered some photographs that Lij purchased something in the camera shop last year. (Though I can't remember exact date) I guessed he bought the newest product. Because EOS 30D was released March 2006 in Japan.
