I'm being an extra on the 30th Jan- tomorrow! And dead convenient, too, as it's just down the road from me in Hackney....

Saw a lot of the Spanish actress with the dark hair who plays the other lead. She seemed really nice. Film base was next to a school today, and all the girlies there screamed every time Elijah came out of his trailer. Funny. You know who they should have been screaming for? John Hurt. Man lookin' goooood ;-)

Elijah in London today and tomorrow

Hi guys,

My mate phoned me today from work and informed me that Elijah Wood is currently filming in Hackney, Weymouth Terrace. At first, I thought she was pulling my leg, but then my sister who attends the secondary school close to the filming area told me that he was not only there but signed autographs.

She also told me that he will be filming there tomorrow.

[Karin says : ] Can't wait to hear more reports by extras (among them our very own community's "spies") as the filming progresses . . .

Extras needed for film shooting!
Film extras needed for 'The Oxford Murders', Alex de la Iglesia's new english-language film. Roehampton students and staff encouraged to apply!

Alex de la Iglesia is one of the most important young directors in Spain, whose first feature film, 'Acción mutante' / 'Mutant Action' (1993), was produced by Almodóvar. He has achieved overwhelming commercial success with films like 'El dia de la bestia' / 'The Day of the Beast' (1995) or 'La comunidad' / 'Common Wealth' (2000), the latter featuring Carmen Maura.

The shooting of his next film, 'The Oxford Murders' (starring John Hurt and Elijah Wood) is going to start very soon in London. The producer, Rosa Romero, at Amaranth Films, has approached me to see whether Roehampton would be interested in providing extras for a day's shooting in Harrow, on February 14th 2007. The pay will be £20 for the day plus packed lunch. Extras are to play the roles of audience members in a big lecture room, which the director wants to fill in with about 400 people. Individuals of all ages, sexes, sizes and colours are welcome! To quote the director: 'Ask all your students and colleagues to bring their grannies, cousins, friends and enemies along!'

And, to tempt you ... two words about the plot: "At Oxford University, a professor (Hurt) and a grad student (Wood) work together to try and stop a potential series of murders seemingly linked by mathematical symbols..." (

I hope many of you will join me there!
