I'm shocked that he's actually number two!

Good for him. :)

And WORD to not understanding why there isn't more - someone please sit that young man down and FORCE him to read this.

I don't think these are actually in any particular order at all.

Still, woohooo!

To be honest, I don't think that this is a ranking and that Elijah being the second pic is meant to say that he's Nr.2...I just understood it to be a compilation of actors under 30 the magazine likes, posted in no special order....There's nothing that indicates that he's Nr.2 or anyone else has a special position and if at all he would be Nr.29 since EW always has their ranking posted in a way that the best comes as last which would make Dan Radcliffe Nr.2, since he's in pic Nr.29...But as said before, I doubt this is a ranking with a special order...

And to be honest, I doubt that they would put Elijah before James McAvoy or Jamie Bell, seeing how they are everybody's (critic's) darling...

Just my opinion and how I understood it, so please don't attack me for it!

No, I agree. Looking at the actors, it's all over the place in terms of the ordering. I'm not sure if I agree with you on Jamie Bell in particular :-) but there is no way, with his recent work, Elijah would be ranked over people like Ryan Gosling, James McAvoy and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (and probably some others such as Shia, Paul Dano etc.).
BTW James McAvoy needs to lose his scruff even worse than Elijah: if you have brown hair and your beard grows red, it's just a complete no go.

Thanks!
I already thought I had misunderstood the EW compilation, since everyone seems so sure that he's Nr.2 and I didn't understand it like that at all...

And I also agree that I don't see EW, a mainstream publication putting him higher than James McAvoy or Ryan Gosling...

I like the scruff on James McAvoy:)

I'm Scottish. I have deeply held beliefs about the innate badness of surprise, orange beards (obviously they are OK if they match the main head hair colour).

"Oh - I doubt that there is a ranking as such."

But if you know this, why make an entry saying that he's Nr.2, if he's not, since it's not a ranking?

And since most of the time when EW has a ranking they save the winner for last, his pic being the second would only imply that he was Nr.29 and not Nr.2...So I doubt that most people would assume he's Nr.2...

Anyway, I am glad he made the list, seeing how most of his projects have been out of the public eye lately, I am glad he got this recognition:)

Thanks for posting, by the way!

But er...he has lots more going than 9. He's got OM, Day Zero, The Passenger, of course there was also Bobby, a little Oscar winning toon called Happy Feet, Paris je taimes, all his music stuff, and movie production work and so on and so forth.

Entertainment Weekly should just look in some of their back issues for this stuff. Doh!

Still..cool he made the list!

I'm delighted he's included at all and that whoever wrote this actually understands Elijah's career development. So many don't to my way of thinking.

Well,Elijah Kelly is #30 or #1....another Elijah.
But,I doubt that JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE is #3.
This is not ranking, and Elijah is not #29 or #2 either.

This list didn't have some my favorite Under 30 actors.
But Elijah still in the list.

Terrible to say I only know 8 of them! I don't get out much!!!!!! Certainly not ranking as Dan Radcliffe would be way up higher.
