Sony picks up the rights to Celeste & Jesse Forever

Great news! I looked at Elijah's most recent tweet (@annairblyn @nikkifinke excellent news!!) and followed the links. Celeste and Jesse Forever has been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics. Sounds like the odds are going up and up that the movie will get U.S. distribution, and perhaps beyond. Woohoo!

Well, Sony's a big studio with a lot of money, so fingers crossed for Western Europe and South America as well. I would imagine they'll screen it in major American cities to see how it plays before deciding on wider distribution. All the critical reviews I've read are quite positive, though, and it seems to be resonating with audiences on a personal level. So let's hope for the best!
