More on the "Is this Elijah?" " question.

As it seems pretty quiet I thought I'd post an update following on from my previus post asking "Is this Elijah" from a Gogol Bordello gig on 4 October.

I checked back on sssneaking's post here which had pics of Elijah backstage earlier in the day:

When I checked the source link I saw that there was a video of Gogol Bordello doing their pre-show warm-up ritual

At 50 secs in the same plaid-shirt guy with camera (seen in the pics I posted previously) walks behind the band with the camera held over his head.

If you watch it in HIGH QUALITY I think it shows pretty clearly that it's NOT Elijah but see you what you think. (To watch in High Quality, click the link on the bottom right hand of the screen).

EDIT: Bah! I just watched it a few more times, and I canNOT make up my mind! LOL!

I couldn't say for sure that it's not Elijah. The look and the movement at the end when he takes the camera down and steps to the left puts me in mind of him.

Do you mean you've read something different? I think her heritage has been pretty well-publicised by the band. I've also read quotes from Elijah that his girlfriend is "half-Thai".

Hmm! It does look still like him up until the point when you see his hair in profile at the end and then it looks too long for Elijah. When I saw the pics in your previous post I was 90% certain it was him but now I'm less so even though the slight figure, dark hair and arms do look like his. The shirt is interesting in that if that is Elijah, I have never seen him wear it before or since and he does wear clothes repeatedly once he likes them. If he turns up wearing it sometime soon, we'll know but I am beginning to think the guy in the footage could just be a look-a-like technician.

Well he does seem to have around a million plaid shirts! LOL. But yes I agree it's the length of the hair that had me wondering too. Because the footage of him is so fast and slightly blurry I keep wondering if it's just an optical illusion.

Mr. Big-Camera is NOT Elijah !

I can solve this question for once and for all time :

At 20 secs into the video, the real Elijah Wood steps into the picture from the left. You can only see his arm and the camera (a normal black SLR camera, NOT a giant silver video camera or whatever that monster is). Why do I know that that person is the real Elijah ? Because he still wears the small-checkered shirt he wore in the two earlier backstage pictures !

Also, having seen the face of Mr. Big-Camera at 50 secs into the video, I can safely say he is NOT Elijah !

I have played the high quality .flv file from my temporary internet files, where I can enlarge the screen in order to watch the video.

So sorry, but the Hi-Res pics you found earlier don't show Eljah in my opinion.

Karin, you are so right! You and I must have been scrutinizing the vid simultaneously, because I was just about to post the same thing! The look-alike guy looked less and less like Elijah, the more I paused the vid to really look at him. And then! - I too saw that familiar arm, that familiar hand with that very familiar ring on the third finger! Also, if you look quickly enough, you can see part of that familiar manbag. That is our Elijah, not this confusingly similar camera guy. :-)

LOL. It just occurred to me that part of the purpose of the original post was to determine whether Elijah was even in LA at the GB gig, and then we really got sidetracked by the guy in those pics. I believe we can now definitively place Elijah at the detour gig on Oct. 4, though not behind that huge video camera.

Thanks for posting the link to this vid. I caught a few others there on GB at the gig that were very entertaining. :-)

I think you can hear him laughing also just before he comes partially into frame...anyone agree. Karin your amazing spotting that arm, lol I guess I am not nearly observant enough, then again I was concentrating on the 40 sec mark not the 20 sec mark...but oh well now we know!!!
