Elijah in Jane magazine?

I've just read this on the ONTD community in a post about 30 Seconds to Mars and Jared Leto:

There's an article in this month's Jane, where Elijah Wood talks about how Jared attacked him that night because Elijah had said he didn't like Jared's band. LOL What a whiny eyeliner bitch. When Elijah was asked if his opinion has since changed he was all "...... no."

Anyone seen this magazine? If anyone could find it and scan/transcribe the article I'd be interested in reading it.

If you don't know by now, I'm a bit 30 Seconds to Mars fan as well as an Elijah fan, so there's a little conflict there...

Doood. I would love to see that article, because I'm a huge Jared/30 Seconds fan myself. I've liked Elijah for yeeaars now, and even though I've just last year started to like Jared, I've met him and he was so entirely sweet and charming that I would really like to know what caused him to be like that that night, because we know Elijah's not the only one who's said something negative about his band... D:!

no, they've not been to Europe before, not since they were promoting the first album anyway, so this is their first proper European tour. I've spent the last couple of years hearing about how awesome they are live, and now I'll get my own chance to experience it, I can't wait!

I wonder if it's the January issue or the February one? I can't find anything on their website about it, but it's probably a pretty small blurb in the magazine. I'll have to go looking!

On further exploration, I think there may be an article about Elijah and Simian in the magazine in the upcoming issue. I'm not sure if it's on newsstands yet, but I'll have a look when I get a chance. I expect someone will beat me to it, though.

I have to thank you guys for pointing this out. I have the magazine, but hadn't looked through it yet, so I had no idea Elijah was in the issue.

It's actually two full pages, article, plus pics (none new) and a sampling of Elijah's musical tastes dating from when he was 8 years old. This is Elijah's second appearance in Jane. Who'd have thunk it? *g*

I'll scan it tomorrow at work.

Off the top of your head, do you happen to know in what issue of Gear the photos bunniewabbit posted appeared? I like to get the actual magazines whenever possible and have been pretty successful finding older ones on eBay.

Your quesion got me curious, so I went and looked for it. The Elijah Gear issue was dated December 2002.

I've been very lucky in finding a great many of the magazines I wanted on eBay in the last year or so, so if there are any others you're interested in, let me know. If I have them, I'll be happy to supply the cover dates.

I have close to 200 magazines that have Elijah or Elijah/LOTR in them, so I think I'm in good shape for the moment. But I know who to ask now if I need any back issue info....LOL

Do you have The Face? I think that's my most prized magazine.

Yes, I was finally able to find a copy of The Face, and it cost me a fortune. The seller was British and the exchange rate on eBay using a credit card really killed me, but I'm not sorry I bought it. I don't think my collection is anywhere near as large as yours, but then I'm still collecting. *g*

I really am interested in the 8yo musical taste tho lol. thanks for mentioning it's with Mandy on the cover. makes it much easier to make sure it's the right issue. i remember when mandy was on the cover of Nylon & lij had an article in that issue.

does this mean i'll actually have to go to borders? oh wait duh I could get it at a supermarket...wait. i forget if they carry Jane. ugh! we'll have to see how good the article is. esp. if there are no new pix.

There aren't a lot of things that Elijah isn't flexible about, but his opinions on music is top of the list. And Jared does not take criticism - or being dismissed - at all well. NOT a good combination

I do wonder though whether Elijah has even bothered to listen to A Beautiful Lie. I bet he hasn't because he obviously didnt like the Self Titled album and so he wouldnt give them another chance.

Even if he did... once his mind is made up on a subject like that, I doubt it would make a difference. it's funny that a large part of his criticism seems to be that Jared is an actor. Rather the pot calling the kettle black...

I agree, and there are plenty of actors who've successfully crossed over...but people forget that all the time and only remember things like Russell Crowe or Keanu Reeves's bands.

I always wonder how Jared and Dwight Yoakam got along during Panic Room - Dwight's done quite well as an actor, at least review-wise, in the little he's done. Did they talk about the unfairness of it?
