Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired Revenge For Jolly! for the US and Canada.
The deal was negotiated by Sony with UTA Independent Film Group. Highland Film Group handles international sales.
Charles Roven’s Atlas Independent, a offshoot of Atlas Entertainment, produced the film and it premiered at Tribeca.
The dark comedy explores the moral ambiguity of revenge.
Chadd Harbold directs and Brian Petsos writes. Petsos stars alongside Oscar Isaac and there are cameos from the likes of Elijah Wood, Ryan Phillippe and Kristen Wiig.
Atlas Independent’s William Green and Aaron Ginsburg produced the film alongside Brian Petsos for his company A Saboteur. Atlas’ Alan Glazer executive produced the project along with Chris Wilmot, Michael Wunderman, Peter Fruchtman and Dan Berk.Elijah's apparently going to Cannes tomorrow (tonight, maybe), presumably for the premiere of
Maniac! tomorrow night. Now, if it's screening at Cannes, as the poster Patrick shared earlier suggested it is, I assume that
Revenge for Jolly has already screened. That means Elijah's done no press at all for that film and hasn't been at either of the screenings, Tribeca or Cannes. That's odd to me. I mean, I realize he obviously couldn't pick up and go to Cannes for a week in the middle of
Wilfred filming. And he really almost HAS to be there for
Maniac!, since I imagine they're hoping to be picked up for distribution in the U.S., and aside from Elijah in the lead, that movie could be considered a "foreign film" (you guys know how Americans are -- and I say that as an American). But it surprises me that he's done basically nothing to support
Revenge for Jolly. I wonder why? Just bad timing?
