That was such a pleasant change. An appreciation of Elijah the music man rather than the actor with the usual resume of his past films. And is this not the first time he has actually admitted to Pam being his girlfriend? I think the year is wrong though and it should be 2004 when they met.

Yes, that's right -- EII was filmed in 2004.

And I think it's the first time that she's been specifically named in an interview. I think he admitted to being in love the last time he was in Jane (unless I've got my interviews mixed up), but no names were mentioned.

Ah was that also a Jane interview when he said that? No, he mentioned no names 'to protect the innocent' [or something like that] but the article did say he 'loved someone on many levels' as I recall.

There was a statement released by Elijah's rep in october last year in a New York newspaper (after the gay radio dj kerfuffle) that named Pamela Racine as his "girlfriend". But this is the first time Elijah himself has named her in an interview.

Thanks so much for that. I really enjoy reading about what Elijah's listening to, even if our taste's don't always match. I love what I've heard of Yamasuki singers, and I'm trying to get my hands on a copy. I also don't care for 30STM, but YS by Joanna Newsom is unlistenable! Sounds like a bad Billie Holiday imitation. Oh well, right now she's the darling of the indie downloading set.

Also, too bad the Gogol Bordello pic features Elizabeth Sun, and not Pam (at least I'm pretty sure).

Thanks for posting this. What a lovely article, and as someone said, so nice to see Elijah get his musical due in a mag rather than the interviewer taking the same old film track. It was also good to hear just what Elijah had to say about that freaky confrontation with JL.

Lovely, interesting interview- and I'm glad he finally mentioned Pam's name.

Actually, when I met Pam last year she was gushing over 'her boyfriend', but never
mentioned his name as well..
I guess by now they've really settled comfortably into their relationship, bless 'em!

THAT is gushing?? Sorry but after all this time thats the BEST he can do?? I have heard him more passionate over a music track or a band. and he doesnt name her.. the magazine does. Jane isnt exactly a paragon of truth, but I'm sure ppl here will believe what they want they always do... Anyway if its true then I'm sure they have just a wonderful relationship I'm sure they will have fun while it lasts.

I agree about that part. Rather than "I'm very happy with her," I expected him to say "I love her," or "I'm crazy about her." He seemed overly reserved when it came to Pam.

I'm a bit upset that the people that like pam are writing glowing stuff and not being neatural, as soon as someone that isn't into her speaks they get jumped on, I thought the rules applied to both sides.

I agree beazle and ink gypsy he does speak more highly of his music more than he does his lover. Hehee.

I don't think anyone has said they "like" Pam. They are just glad for Elijah because he has he said is happy. So I'm not sure what "sides" you are talking about. But you are quite right, we shouldn't be discussing their relationship at all. We should all remember the rules.
