According to this blog, Elijah attended the screening of this documentary. Anyone know anything about it? Or is this why Elijah’s been snapping the band frantically for several years now!!!

Thanks for the link and story mole, gosh, do Elijah fans look that goofy to other people??? I have to think this through.......( goes off to contemplate)....... maybe that writer has something. Elijah is very patient and even though I consider myself a "fan" I don't think I'd act like that... but then again, when I was at ORC.......did I act like that then?? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

I am sad to say I think anyone over 35 is probably viewed this way if they are a fan of anyone younger than 30. It seems the 20-30 crowd have little tolerance.

I have often wondered when I see Elijah and just want to say hello, good to see you...what people are thinking. I don't know why this is viewed as groupie behavior. I have rarely seen any screaming, fawning behavior from the older fans, usually just polite behavior and distant admiration. I'm not sure what exactly it is that they see. You can usually tell if Elijah is in the mood to greet people in which case I personally would back off.

This blogger well if I had been there I'd have sent her over to Elijah to aske her question. Knowing him he'd have considered it, with his indie film interests...she really let her prejudice against perceived older fans keep her from a great opportunity.

Yeah, I wasn't there , so I don't know what the "older" fans were like, I've never really thought about age when it came to fans. We are all just fans. I mean since I've been to ORC and a few cons. there have been some fringe people who are definitely out there. But that happens everywhere. These people for the MOST part are harmless. I did see an incident between two YOUNGER women fans at ORC, where I thought one of them was getting rather hostile and the other was completely out of line what she did to Elijah. I felt bad and it was really embarrassing. I don't think I'll ever forget that , and that was two YOUNGER women. But I'm not thinking all younger fans are nuts.... I mean it is an opportunity like you said to meet people. This is a very interesting point we both talk about . I wonder if that should be posed on some site? what do you think??

did the incident you mention involve money and cleavage? Or is it another example of girls gone wild over Elijah?

Cleavage yes, money no........... but it was embarrassing for Elijah and he took it real well. But, that is not what I would say fans should do. Now I guess I"m putting my2 cents in here and maybe younger people would think it was all in fun. Yet, Elijah was , I feel , part of the joke sort to speak... I really don't want to go into details - it was a long time ago, I'm hoping the people involved have grown up a little from it.

S-OK....no problem I think I recall the incident, no details are required. It has been a long time...

You were there?
Then you must know. it was all over, people were talking like Hyenas about it. I was just disappointed in the whole thing and had a bad feeling towards it. Sometimes , people don't think and they do stupid things and then they can't take it back, it's done and someone gets hurt.

Depends I did miss one of the cons due to my fathers illness. But perhaps there is at least one crass individual at every con. To each his own they have to live with themselves that may turn out to be a good memory or a terribly embarrassing one. I'm sure Elijah has forgotten it.

Thanks for finding this sighting for us, Moley !

And I like the headline she gave to the blog entry - Elijah and 'tall' in the same sentence, for a change ;o)

Love,

- Karin.

Thanks for the find. I hate it too when people make a lot of noise during a movie. Not cool at all! I've heard of this movie.

It played last night (November 1) at 7:10PM at the Hollywood Arclight Theater 9, I just discovered.

The AFI film fest runs October 30 - November 9 in Los Angeles. More on GB movie:

GOGOL BORDELLO NON-STOP
(USA, 2008, 87 mins)
Documentary Competition
Wednesday, November 5th 12:30pm
ArcLight Hollywood 13
$7.00

Hailing from five countries, and led by the irrepressible Eugene Hütz, the members of a band that's exploded into an international sensation tell their stories and share their music. This doc elevates the concert film into a full-blown exploration of music, identity and global politics.

Thanks for this. When I was recently scouring GB's site for any as yet undiscovered pics of Elijah I think I remember seeing a reference to this screening on their home page. Maybe that's where these Elijah fans saw it. Perhaps all their blabbing about Eugene was their way of covering the fact that that they might really have been there to see if Elijah would turn up. Thanks for the link. It's kinda of embarassing when people carry on like that. But on the other hand, sometimes the observer's own prejudices can colour their assessment too.
