The BBC 6music interview is up (streaming) Here

Starts at 1:56:30.

A normal Mumble, music and simian related interview but finishes with some extreme music geekery LOL (they make the mistake of asking him what track he wants them to play).

Edit: Actual BBC page is here (which might work better)

The actual BBC link is here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/6music.shtml
(Scroll down to Nemone and click Friday)

Hey, sugarpop! I don't get it. Is that a downloadable, or a link to the show? 'Cause if it's the latter, the link is funny. I'm kinda an idiot with this internet stuff... :-/

OK, thanks. That third links works great. When I click on your fist and second ones, I get a dialogue box asking me if I want to "save." Weird!

ok I'm totally confused. I went to Nemone and click Friday. I didn't have real player installed so I installed that since Firefox told me to. there's random music playing. and it says 16:00:00 blah blah/19:00:00 I press the 15min forwarding. at some point a woman is speaking but I'm still not sure what in the world I'm listening to or doing lol. how do I get it to forward to 1:56:30? and is that 1 hour 56 min? if you can explain to me in layman's terms I'll try to get this recorded/converted to mp3/uploaded :)

Yeah, that's my problem, too. For me, playing it right now, it starts at 19:00:00/22:00:31. And I have no idea how to get it to the right time for Elijah. I'm going to keep fiddling with it, though, in hopes of finding him.

thank you! I got it to work this way. it wouldn't let me play just w/the url though. I had to save the file & play it in real player. I'll make a downloadable as soon as I can! :D

Got it! Elijah's interview starts 1 hr 56 min 30 sec into the program, so whatever the time says when you start streaming it, fast forward as close as you can to that far in. For me, since the timer says 19:00:00 when it starts, Elijah comes on at 20:56:30. :-)

I broke down and installed the new Real Player so I could listen. I haven't been able to get BBC things to work without it. I guess I could go back and see a couple now that I have it. . .

Thanks for the link! :-)

ok if I can figure out how to play these things (totally foreign to these sites) I can put up downloadables for all of the ones that haven't been put up yet. do you need Real Player for this? I'll try to figure this out & get back to you guys. thanks for all these and the help! :)

bunnie is it ok if I make an entry just of these downloadables once I have them up? I figure if I post them in their respective entries, some of which are older now, people may not notice so it won't do much good.

Personally I think that would be a great idea Padme. I'm sure people do miss lots of downloads that are posted much later within already existing threads.

And a big thanks in anticipation for any downloads you can post! :)

thanks hon ♥ :D thanks to their kind help, I got this one to work, will record later. I recorded one of the other ones already. will put up downloads as soon as I can! some of the videos that have been posted where dls have not been offered, I'm trying to see if someone I know can rip them for me. but if not do-able, I might try to at least record the audio speaking from those vids too.

school is almost done (THANK GOD!) I still have a couple more things to freak out about lol, but I'm going to try to catch up to a lot of ppl including you! as best as I can :)

And thanks again for all your trouble in getting some downloads up. *hugs*

haha! ;P I'm a student. aw, *hugs* too! :D I'm glad to help. I got all of the audio stuff that wasn't downloadable recorded I think. I just find it hard to believe there's no one here who can rip some of the website videos though. I think maybe a few can, they just haven't the time maybe, which I can totally understand. I dunno, I wish I knew if there are people here who can rip them but just can't right now. but I wish some of those vids could be ripped for download, because I don't really wanna have to ask my person to try ripping all these Elijah vids lol. I don't think my person cares about Lijah, so I don't really wanna bother them you know? there's nothing in it for the person. but I'll ask anyway if all else fails. it's gonna take me a little while to get everything put up but when I'm done I'll post all the stuff I put up :)

Caught the last bits of the interview on the BBC link advancing 15 min at a time. He's requested the yama yama song!

Thanks for linking (and all the detective work on finding just the right moment!

Sheesh, I got so wrapped up in the mechanics of finding his interview in the program I forgot to comment about the interview itself. *rolls eyes*

Yeah, the standard promo stuff was pretty much just normal, but anytime someone gets Elijah talking about music, 'normal' ceases right there! I love his enthusiasm, and he really tried to set them a challenge with his choice of track. Then again, they had an advantage since the interview was pre-recorded, and they had a bit of time to locate his song.

He really loves that Yama Yama doesn't he? Second time I've heard him rec it in an interview recently (the first being his October 31st interview on KEXP).

really?? I haven't listened to KEXP yet. wait so which one is actually Yama Yama??? I really like this one on Nemone's BBC Radio 6! I find it very amusing lol!

Yeah I like both songs, the one the BBC played and the one HE played from his ipod on KEXP. I wonder what he'd think of the BBC one. As the BBC interview was pre-recorded, he wouldn't have been around when they actually aired it.

The one he played from his ipod on KEXP was called La Mon de Fabilo de Yamazuki by the Yamazuki singers (I made up the spelling of course but that's what it sounds like from his pronunciation.) When the BBC played their song I thought, hang on, that's not the same song. I'm sure he asked for the same one but I might have misheard him

the BBC Radio 6 one he asked for was Yama Yama by Yama Suki (sp?). oh wait ok. I'm listening to the KEXP one now. I never listened to all of it yet. 29min into. dude, that La Mon de Fabilo de Yamazuki - that sounds like that one old French one he recommended on myspace. if it's the same one, I looked for their music a couple months ago when he posted it, but couldn't find any lol

Ah that must explain it. It's the same group/artist but a different song. He must have their whole album. I'd love to have it too. It sounds so much fun. Too bad you couldn't find it when you looked.

I don't know. I thought it was 2 diff songs at first too, but on KEXP I could've sworn he said "Yama Yama" too, but I didn't listen closely. I didn't realize there was so much in that interview! woo. well if their CD was just released (on FindersKeepers? whatever that is) after 30+ years lol, I don't feel too bad not being able to find it :P I g2g, ttyl! :D

Check out this link that [livejournal.com profile] frodos_smile posted below this comment. It has both tracks back to back.

http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/18219

Scroll down till you see the tracks listed. Then click on the real audio link beside the pic of the radio. Fast forward about 5 minutes and that's when they play the tracks.

No, I didn't notice! But I went back and listened again to the KEXP interview, and you are so right! I paid particular attention to how he intro'd the song on KEXP, and he definitely said that track was called Yama Yama, so... did he stump BBD Radio 6? Couldn't they find that track? Or were they just careless in which one they played?

Somehow, it makes me proud of Elijah that he requested something BBC 6 apparently either didn't have, or aren't as knowledgeable as he is concerning this band. hehe

Ok, I did some research and found a link to an old radio program which happened to play these two songs back to back! The song BBC 6 played is Yamasuki, the one Elijah played on KEXP is indeed Yama Yama.

If you want, you can listen to the radio show at this link:

http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/18219

If you want to just check out both these Yamasuki Singer tracks, Yamasuki begins at about 2:13:30 into the program.
