New trailer

I found what I believe to be a new trailer for Day Zero (aimed at marketing the DVD, apparently) here. It's fairly short, and not terribly spoilery, and there are a few new shots in there, different from the other trailers.

Pardon me if I grumble for a minute about Elwood's movies always going (or almost, anyway) straight to DVD. Surely at least SOME of his films have been better than much of the drivel showing in theaters. This particular movie might have been the one to break the box-office curse of Iraq war films which have all tanked this year, no matter who starred in them. Yet, Reese and Jake and George and Jamie and all the other stars in those low-grossing flicks will still be offered millions for their next films. Grrrrrr.

Sorry. I just want the rest of the world to love him as much as I do!

I hear you. There is just so much sheer crap released that it boggles the mind sometimes, yet movies that are thought-provoking (and not coincidentally low-budget) fall by wayside.

It reflects pretty poorly on what Hollywood thinks of the lowest common denominator, and how often (unfortunately) they're right.

I told the producer how wonderful I thought it was...and also the others who've seen it as well. He's glad everyone likes it, but said he can't take credit. It was made by First Look Pictures.

He received my email asking about which poster is the official one. I got an answer about the one you posted at e_finds and am waiting for a second email from him showing the poster considered to be "official." I'll post the info when I have it.

Good trailer, really good. And not just because it's more Elijah-centric. I adore the quick bit at the end with the revamped Aaron saying "peace" then putting his ciggie back in his mouth and walking away. Reminded me of one of my true loves way back in college (60's), right down to the fatigue jacket. And I think THIS is the DVD that's finally going to make my recorder go 'boing' with all the zooming, pausing and rewinding!!
