Day Zero will officially open at the Angelika Film Center in NYC on Friday, January 18.

It will be crucial to sell out the opening weekend and as much of the subsequent week as possible in order for the release to grow to more cities/screens.

So....the better the attendance at the Angelika, the wider the release will be. If you or anyone you know in the NYC metropolitan area can attend, please urge them to do so. It will be very important in determining what happens next for this film. High attendance in NYC = DZ shown in your town.

A week or so ago, someone mentioned seeing a February 26 release date for the DVD of Day Zero and wondered if it was correct. It is.

Christmas on Mars, the sci-fi Xmas epic written and directed by the Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne, will finally hit theaters next Spring on Earth. The film, which has been in various states of production for the last six years, stars Lips’ multi-instrumentalist Stephen Drozd as Major Syrtis, an astronaut who celebrates the first Christmas on the red planet after its been colonized. Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock, Elijah Wood, and Entourage’s Adam Goldberg all appear in cameos.

I wonder how big a cameo he'll have. If it's as good as his five minutes in Paris, Je T'aime, I'll take it. Yes, I know that wasn't a cameo. *g*

Thanks Yeux for the new news on what Elijah will be in next. He's been kind of quiet lately.
Wonder if he is working with his record company or just keeping company with his family or that special someone in his life.

Ok, I've got this picture of Elijah on my wallpaper.  Couldn't find it posted here, but it may be too far back (and frankly, I'm not feeling well enough to hunt, but I should think Karin posted it).  Anyway, the picture is of Elijah at the press stuff for Happy Feet (wearing the green sweater).  And it looks like his nose has changed just slightly, as if he broke his nose.  I looked at older pictures and his nose didn't look like it had a .....I guess you might say a point of impact (like Owen Wilson, if that helps).

Can anyone else see this?  Am I losing my mind?
