I got this Google alert today in my emails. If you get them too, you will see this eventually, but if you don't I thought I'd share.

It's nothing we haven't heard or seen before, but this is from the producer of Day Zero.

What's been most gratifying, in this age of disposable entertainment (when was the last time you chatted about a blockbuster beyond the ride home from the theater?) is how the audiences at our screenings let us know – by email, phone, blog posts, reviews, etc. – that Day Zero stayed with them.

Hmmm...Apparently I'm not getting my tracking notices today....I'm glad to hear this and hope we'll get to see this soon. It's sad when the good ones don't see the light of day with all the trash out there.

Day Zero is due for a small-scale theatrical release later this year

While I'm glad to see it will be released, it's a little disappointing to see they've set their sights on only a small scale release; it's such a good film it needs to be seen by everyone. It's sad that so many just plain bad/dumb/brainless movies seem to get better distrubution than this one. Hopefully though, if it does do well the producers can expand a bit.

I suspect they haven't set their sights on a small scale release in the way you are thinking (i.e. low expectations). They can't do a bigger release without selling it to somebody and it sounds to me like they are perhaps aiming high to have that small release (maybe too high). Hopefully they will get into a position where they can expand it as you say but I think I'm just so relieved that there's going to be a DVD (Paris Je T'aime hasn't come anywhere near me, so this won't even if it gets shown in the UK).

that always seems to be the case. still, whatever they are working on with distribution, i hope they are doing all they can and not stop short. i lobbied long and hard for GSH to be shown here and the theater was willing to show it, but the studio didn't seem to follow up. sad really.

Lady, I received the same google alert. I was very happy to read that the film will have a theatrical release, even if it's a small one. I just hope that word of mouth gets people to the theater. This is one powerful film and it definitely stayed with me way after I saw it. **fingers crossed**

Oh cool find!! Thanks for sharing this - and maybe I'm wrong, but I think perhaps those pics included in the article are new - perhaps actual screen caps from the film rather than still shots taken on set. Thanks again. I really am SO looking forward to seeing this film.

i've been geeked about seeing this film since i read the premise. the pics aren't new however. i'm not sure if they're from the movie or just on set. hopefully we'll get to see the movie to find out. :)

Oh yes you are right. I checked back on my Day Zero and found the same pics. Didn't even realise I had them! :D
