I discovered that Paris je t'aime has just been released on DVD in France - you can find it at Amazon.fr for example. It's a 2-disc collector's edition and according to the listing, it includes among other things a 2-hour Making Of, as well as a featurette on Elijah's segment - from what I get it's about the special effects though (Séquences animatique de "Quartier de la Madeleine" réalisé par Vincenzo Natali - someone who speaks better French than me correct me if I'm wrong), so I have no idea how much Elijah might be in it.

Date: 2007-01-14 01:04 am (UTC)Sounds ever so tempting, but, oh my, my French!
Yet I do believe you're right about Sequences animatique meaning special effects.
Now am I going to order it from the French amazon, or am I going to wait a bit for an
edition I can actually understand??
Ah well...
*hurries over to French Amazon- just can't help myself*

Date: 2007-01-14 10:06 am (UTC)I immediately went and ordered it from Amazon.fr (it's more expensive via Ebay.fr , so I chose the former option), though not from them directly, but via the "marketplace" section, where I can get it used, but for a little less money.
As is typically for French DVDs, it comes without English subtitles, but at least for the "Quartier Madeleine" segment with Elijah, they are hardly necessary, aren't they ?
However, the bonus features in French ? Let's wait and see . . .
Amazon.fr also sells "Paris Je T'Aime" books = tourist guides that tell you the exact places where the segments were filmed, including Elijah's segment, as well as more informations what to see in the respective part of Paris.
However, as I don't plan any holidays in France in the immediate future, I passed on that option.
Love,
- Karin.
