Probably. All those geeks. However, this is specifically rentals and not sales. A lot of people with kids tend to buy DVDs - especially if the kids are little and like to keep re-watching them. That's why the DVD rental figures are so low (in comparison to theatrical gross) for both these films. The DVD cover for Happy Feet looks like it's aimed very young (probably younger than would really enjoy what is quite a dark/scary film in places) whereas most adult renters will always give the latest Pixar film a watch. I think that makes a difference.
However, there is also the time factor: Cars was out way before Happy Feet. The last recorded weekend for Happy Feet, it was still getting something like $0.6 million a weekend so its total will go at least a bit higher.
I think that PJT won't come to my town and maybe not within 100 miles of me, at least not initially. It's not on the upcoming cinema listings yet (other films are) and it's out in 2 weeks. However, Bobby is out on DVD so I've bought that :)
