Hi I'm new to this community, I'm happy to say, I just watched The Oxford Murders and it touched my heart. It was so intense, I was wondering if there are any fanfiction regarding this movie? (Slash is appreciated!) I just searched everywhere and cannot seem to find any.

Also I'll be really happy if anyone can pass me the book in online formats?

The Oxford Murders is one of my favourite Elijah films.. but maybe that's because i was lucky enough to be a part of it ;) It's lovely to hear that it touched your heart :)

I've not come across any fanfic relating to this film .. not up to now anyway, so maybe it's up to you to start the ball rolling ;)

Loved that film. Saw it twice when it was in cinemas and then got the DVD. But haven't seen any fanfic. There's not really a slash pairing except Elijah's chter and John Hurt's...

Hi and welcome! I too was in that movie :-) (A bunch of us here were extras)
... but it never occurred to me to slash it, and I think that's because it's such an obvious hetero lovestory. But I'm sure talented people around this community could find an angle. so... LISTEN UP CLASS, time to sharpen those pencils!! :-)

I agree that it's a het love story, but underneath, there are so many implications that Martin "fancies" Prof.Seldom, he envies him, he's jealous of him and he really admires him as a point of almost obsession, as would many female characters would say. It's slash already, LOL!

Sadly, I haven't ever heard about any Oxford Murders fanfiction. - Slash you say ? Like Martin/Arthur ? *tries to wrap her brain around it - though, as Ian/Elijah never did squick me, I guess it IS possible*

I think, if there IS OM fanfiction around, it's more likely being het, like Martin/Lorna or Martin/Beth. Though the characters in OM are not particularly fleshed out, so maybe that's why hardly anyone was tempted writing fanfiction about the movie.

Though it would lend itself for actorfic, maybe, as the time of the filming was pretty intense, and us fans got to know a lot of the backstory and the happenings via Álex de la Iglesia's blog (written in Spanish) at the time.

I can't help you with the book, either, as I haven't even entered the world of e-books - I am still clinging to the good old-fashioned things made out of paper, LOL !

LOLOL I must say it knocked me speechless for a minute =)) You may prefer "Görüşürüz" as a "See you" phrase, "Allahaısmarladık" is a little old, it means be safe to god until I see you or that sort of thing, LOL.

When I saw the movie, I obviously didn't watch it as Ian/Elijah, although I must say their character have so many slash moments! Obsession with Professor Seldom ? - Surely ! Martin, in some cases even prefers Seldom's company to Lorna's ! Martin FEARS the police might see him as a gay man lusting after Seldom, and thus fitting into the profile the police had created about the probable properties of the murderer, but in reality, I don't think there's any sexual motive behind it. Of course, as a slash author, you are entitled to write a wholly different set-up . . .

I meant I was not squicked by the Ian / Elijah pairing in Lord Of The Rings RPS. If you are talking about OM RPS, the pairing we are referring to is obviously John / Elijah.

Or just start with the oldest entry there and then press "next", because not all the relevant entries (translations from the blog, paparazzi photos, sightings in English reataurants and pubs - Viggo was filming at the same time in London, and it came to a few encounters) may have been marked with the tag 'Oxford Murders' . . .

The book is a little bit 'drier' than the film, it's harder to stay with the story until the end . . .
