A couple more Day Zero article mentions

The http://www.dayzerothemovie.com News page seems even better and more obsessive than us at finding stuff. They've got a link to a Variety article about the movies that distributors are most keen to check out during Tribeca and Day Zero is on the list. Which is promising (fingers crossed, assuming the movie is OK or better).

The Hollywood Reporter has a little bit about it - I'm not sure I've seen the budget mentioned before?

Day Zero
Premieres: Sunday, 9:30 p.m., Clearview Chelsea West
Industry Cred: Documentary director and editor Bryan Gunnar Cole's narrative-feature debut stars Chris Klein and Elijah Wood in the story of how a small group of friends in New York react to a fictional reinstatement of the draft.
The Scoop: Cole filmed in 60 New York City locations in just 24 days for less than $750,000, using a handheld camera to help give the "frenzied feel of a mid-'70s indie film," he says. The style seems rather apt for a subject he says hasn't been fully explored since the Vietnam era. "I'd like (the movie) to get people talking about what we're doing today and why."

Thanks for the info. I'm glad that distributors are interested in Day Zero. *crosses fingers for wide distribution*

And, 60 locations in 24 days??? Sounds like lots of running around. . . ;-)

great news! i really hope this film finds not only a distributor, but the right one. in fact, i hope indalgo will have to fight off the offers. or is that asking too much. ;-)

and there will be a few of those companies there. did you see this (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117963720.html?categoryid=2534&cs=1&nid=2853) from variety?

*crosses everything that can be* :-)

Thanks so much sssneaking!! I keep thinking that given the anti-war mood in the country and the films subject matter it will surely get a distributor. Keeping all fingers and toes crossed!!

Thank so much for the info!

The premier of DZ is that only in NY?

As I was driving home today I was debating with myself the odds of DZ getting a reasonable distribution in the UK and decided it mostly rests for the time being with how well it's received at Tribecca. Hope it's not too controversial for some tastes.
