Elijah and Viggo!
Hello everyone, this is my translation of a recent blog entry. My translation may well have some mistakes in it, but probably less than Babelfish's. :) The original is here:
http://blasfemandoenelvrticedeluniverso.blogspot.com/2007/02/despues-de-vietnam-al-vietnamita.html
There was a plan to go get dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant, and Elijah was planning to go, and he said he would bring along Vigo [hee!] Mortensen, who's in town doing a film with Cronenberg, as addicts of this blog are already aware. It seemed like a good plan, really, but I came back to my "The Shining" apartment and I've been abducted. The damn twins are holding me here with their psychic powers. Some other day we'll make plans and go wherever you want, but as Campanilla, one of the readers of the blog, says, I'm not that young anymore. So I'm staying here and writing, and I hope they have a great time at the Vietnamese place. Although, to tell you the truth, it sounds like the typical kind of plan where in the end it's just Paco the wardrobe guy and me at the Vietnamese place, which is what always happens. Man, if Cronenberg were coming, I'd make an effort, but I don't think he will. He's probably exhausted at his apartment.
Today we only had one scene with Elijah. Pamela, his girlfriend, is back from Moscow. What a joy to see her around the set, with her smile. A true delight. And Mr. Hurt was splendid. I recorded his voiceovers. We also finished up with Alex Cox, filming the sequences from the psych hospital. Thank you, Mr. Cox. This weekend I'll put up some mythical photos...
The other day some paparazzis came and took pictures on the set... They're probably those pictures that come out on realnews. Tomorrow we change locations, go to Bushey... God, I feel like I'm slowly running out of batteries. It seems that my organism administrates my energy and it generates a kind of extra motor for filming, and when it runs out, it stops, and I feel like the bunnies that don't have Duracell.

Hmmm, some other translations I read said Pamela had come back from Moscow. According to the tour info, GB doesn't have any more appearances in Russia. And she and Elijah love Thai food, so that would explain the Vietnamese restaurant choice since the food is very similar to Thai.
Thanks for the translation. I wish now I'd studied Spanish instead of French. ;>)

I'm glad that lij seems to possibly be taking in more Asian culture. or maybe he always liked Vietnamese food. anyone know how much Thai pamela has in her? half-Thai? I've always wondered. she looks much more Asian with the short do I've noticed. I like the short do on her actually. anyone know what other ethnicity(s) she is of? for the longest time I had absolutely no clue she was anything but white. hope that's neutral enough to ask, bunnie :)
I am still so behind on all this, but this is the Oxford Murders director Alex's blog correct? I find it so odd & funny that he mentions pamela as often as he does. omg, has anyone from here posted on the blog? do you have to be a member? I wanna post something! LOL. my espanol SUCKS pretty bad now though. how inconvenient! I used to LOVE taking Spanish.

Woohoo, my master's degree finally pays off in fandom!
;-D
Babelfish can be such a laugh though -- like the other day when it translated Donald Duck as "The Duck Donald" ;-)
I can't help agreeing with
I find it so odd & funny that he mentions pamela as often as he does.
I have to agree, and have sometimes wondered if there's some kind of agenda behind that ... I mean, if Alex were mentioning the other cast members' partners too, then it maybe wouldn't seem quite so odd.
Bushey is in Herts, isn't it? Wonder why they're going there? And Barking too! They must be barking ... ;-)
I wonder if the Vietnamese restaurant was one of these:

I love the name "Good Morning Vietnam"! Reminds me of the US troops' radio stations & all that fantastic sixties music!
