OXFORD MURDERS

For those in the UK - I've just found out OM is showing in Birmingham after all - at Vue Cinemas, Star City - it wasn't listed the last time I looked:

http://www.myvue.com/cinemas/timetable.asp?SessionID=DA0007A2D188430892CC5F0F835301F2&cn=1&ci=12&ln=1&fi=7581|3269|

Also, don't forget 'Elijah Wood in the Hood' on E4 tomorrow morning 8 to 9 am - a whole hour of Elwood. Don't know what it's about but I expect he's introducing music.

OM was mentioed on This Morning today - a daytime programme on mainstream tv. Paul Ross (brother of Jonathan) spoke well of it - called it 'classy' and said it was a good film for anyone missing Inspector Morse and similar programmes. He said that despite the fact it wasn't going down well with some critics, he thought it was very good. They showed a clip which just happened to be the one where John pauses as he's standing next to my hubby. He (hubby) will be insufferable now he's appeared on a main tv channel - he's already been swanning round the house wearing sunglasses since we saw this same clip on the OM Close-Up!! I am completely blocked out by John. Probably a good thing.

8 - 9am. That's so harsh! lol. But yay for a whole hour of goodness. :)

*snork*

I'm so glad good things are being said about the film by members of the general public who've seen it...boo to the critics.

OM's mentioned on National tv?..yay! And a positive comment, which is great!

I've seen Hubbie a few times.. every time they show that lecture hall scene.. sunglasses?? ;D
I'm really glad that there aren't any close-ups of me.. that sort of fame i can definately live without thank you very much.. It's just far enough away that i can see myself..(mostly when i'm craning to look at 'Martin'..no surprise there..lol!) and say i'm in it.. but not too near to be embarrassing!

There seems to be a few cinemas around the country that have added the film to their list.. Looking good!

Elijah Wood in the Hood.. quite possibly it's music, though as long as he's on for more than 5 mins, i'm happy! It did say in the programme synopsis..'an interview with Elijah Wood'.. can't wait!

Please, please someone tape this show, I have to work tommorow morning - can't get out of it as I am interviewing all day.

I am so anxious to get a glimpse of all the interviews etc on UK TV, real life is intervening big time but I know the brits will come through :)

NA, take a few snaps of him Papparazzi style just to make his few minutes feel even more legit :D

Hey ! So you finally saw this part where we can see your husband very well ?
I was so proud of myself when I found out all alone that it was you and your hubby when I saw the movie ! lol

Thanks. I think I shall check all the vaguely local listings on Friday to see if I can get it somewhere closer than Bath.

I'm glad some critic likes it even if it is just somebody like Paul Ross (he's famous for giving good reviews to bad films for their posters).

I love the idea of your film star Hubby.

So it will be shown in Birmingham after all, but since when did vue list it? Thought it was to be only Odeons...

That's great to hear of Paul Ross praising OM! Glad someone likes it and gives it a plug :-)

Hehehe! I just set it to record on my sister's Sky-plus box. Nice. ;)

Well it wasn't there when I looked either! Will go and have a look although now I've booked Leicester, I'll have to go. As for E4, can't get it so will hope that some of it may make it on to Youtube.

Not showing at my local VUE though. Still I'm glad it is getting around, it's not like the big blockbusters every where but with some of Elijah's films we were lucky to get them in one independent cinema in London.

I am quite glad to see it being advertised and getting out and about here an there but I do wonder whether whoever has the finances to do a big thing. As you can probably work out I have no idea how these promotion thing all works but I guess there's some big, expensive machinations involved.

How I wish I could see all these UK programs he's appearing on!! I so hope OM does well in the UK - I still have all fingers and toes crossed that it'll come to the US.

I think you should post a pic of movie star hubby!! How exciting for both of you!!

The one hour program this morning had possible 5 minutes of Elijah and a load of shite music inbetween, how disappointing.

Not_alone is right - OM is on at Star City which leaves me feeling a bit bad now. It must have been added on Monday. I decided to book a ticket for Leicester just incase, [it being a small screen], I got there only to find it full. You never know - if other people like me decided to go because it was their nearest cinema, I could find myself unable to get in. Unlikely I hear you say but stranger things have happened. Star City is still a 25 mins drive away but it is closer. It does say that the ticket is non refundable so I would lose £7.40 if I decided against going. Ah well!

5 minutes eh? I feared this Sal. Is the 5 mins worth putting up though?

[identity profile] ex-salwood.livejournal.com 2008-04-24 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Half of the 5 minutes is also part of the interview I recorded on Tuesday.

Next week hopefully I will have some time to copy, edit and upload it.

Thanks to you I tried the Showroom site in Sheffield and lo and behold they have OM on for two weeks! I hadn't bothered looking before. So, thank you! :-)
