If Elijah decided it was a priority in his life to stop biting his nails, or even to stop smoking, I would want to be as supportive of him as possible... but I have to admit that, in either case, I would probably have to sit down and have a bit of a cry first, honestly. They are part of who he is, and I love who he is, including his human flaws and the things he does that I don't choose for myself (which does not, in the interest of full disclosure, include smoking, because I do that sometimes).
