Thanks for this. Time is short today so I watched Elijah and skipped the rest! Sorry! You know I can't place this event so will have to look back through my Elijah diary. He looks quite edible in his tux!

this is the first video footage i've seen of elijah at this event. i remember watching the entertainment shows waiting for a glance or interview or something, but that never came. thanks!

It's hard to describe - it's not Midwest America, not British - it's like a mix of several accents that make him really unique. You can hear a bit of British inflection on certain words and some midwest in certain words/phrases. It really is a hodgepodge - I don't know how else to describe it. But very unique to him - and I love it!!

aw fanks hon! ♥ i've never seen video of this. pretty much all the youtube elijah stuff I have to depend on yall here to post for meh! I always loved how after the event Lij & Ian Somerhalder (Boone on Lost) shared a taxi together. I wanted to know if they talked about Dom ♥ I'm trying to find my pix of them, will post later if i find them. gahhh, dont know where I saved them.

I converted the video to .avi (i have keeping things in .flv if i don't have to, cuz on VLC you can't forward/rewind! grr) so if you or anyone needs it uploaded i'd be happy to share.

this was from around Eii promo time i believe, late 2005. he was there w/Liev. i've no idea how they got involved but i don't think about it too much. he attends fashion-related events every so often - thank God not too often. I really don't think he cares for fashion or thinks too much about it but for this I figure maybe it was soemthing Liev had to attend & he invited lij maybe? no idea. there's a pic where they are on a couch backstage i think & he's hugging him. afterward lij was smoking when he left in a taxi with Ian Somerhalder.

ok someone confirm w/me, is this Costume Gala the same event where Lij & Ian left in a taxi? i found pix here http://always.ejwsites.net/05CCIG.html but no Ian ones..and I can't find the pix w/Ian but I KNOW i saved them. I could've sworn I got them from Patsie. do you know what month this was exactly? ahhh i want to find those pix

Oh yes I remember that pic, but I don't have it anywhere on my hard drive for some reason which seems strange. Maybe it was a pic that I couldn't download for some reason. I loved to think they had become friends through Dom. Both blue-eyed beauties!! Are they still friends do you know?

Unfortunately I don't know if it was this event or not. I've only just worked out that all these pics I had of Lij and Liev together in tux were from this event. I had thought in the past that it might have been an EII prem somewhere.

Yeah I dunno how Elijah gets caught up in all this fashion stuff! The Chile one still has me perplexed! Maybe he's just on the "must-have" invitee list for high profile events, which is a nice thought. Also I'm guessing if you're promoting a movie the studio will make sure you get invites to big events happening around that time. When I was a full-on Brendan Fraser fan I used to notice the same trend. If he had a movie to promote he'd be showing up to a whole bunch of events all happening around the same time. Then he'd be off the radar for ages before another movie was coming out and it all started again. Anyway, that's just one theory! :) Hope your internet connection settles down soon.

I just found that pic where they are on a couch together but they are in different outfits from the Chanel event. I have it saved in a folder for the Toronto International Film Festival 2005 but I just put it there 'cos I didn't know where else to file it. So where was it taken I wonder. Here it is:

yea that was prob diff event! thanks :D i do think the Ian S thing was indeed at the Chanel Gala..cuz i can't remember where else they could've been together. ive no idea how close Ian & Lij are - or if they were even at all close to begin with. or did you mean Dom? or course he & Lijee are still friends! friends till the end :D ♥

No I did mean Lij and Ian. Yeah "Sblommie and Doodle"! Very cute they are! Someone should put them in their own comic book.

It seems Elijah loves fashion, it may be another of his interests, just like photography, who knows? I'm curious, too!

I did manage to watch some of the video (the bit with Elijah in it anyway!) and I have to agree. To me he still sounds American, but not that strongly. I do think he's picked up something of British word pronunciation too.

Yeah, who knows? I agree that the Chile affair was a little puzzling. And although I think Elijah is very famous (obviously) I somehow doubt that he's on the "must-have" list for celeb-type events. As you said, it might all be tied in with movie promotions etc.

Yes, goodness knows how he ended up with the nickname Sblomie. I guess maybe it was just a fun name that evolved as a corrupton of Dom/Dommie/Sblommie. All I know is that in a public chat session on Billy Boyd's website some years ago, Elijah referred to Dom as Sblomie or Sblom and himself as Doodle. (That's if if my memory serves me.) You probably already knew about that, but I didn't find out about the chat session until I asked the question on my LJ: Is Elijah's fan-fic nickname of "Doodle" based in reality? Some lovely person told me about the chat session and gave me the transcript. I still have the transcript if you'd like it.

Sblommie and Doodle are Dom (Sblommie) and Elijah (Doodle). See my reply to Lyra below. :)

Yep it comes from Yankee Doodle. Before I read the chat transcripts I thought maybe it was just cute little name for a cute little dude or "doodle"!

Actually I have two word documents. One is the chat transcript where Elijah, Billy, Dom and Hannah all join in with fans from Billy's site. Then there is a word document that has a couple of posts posted by Elijah and Dom on Billy's site. This is the part where they refer to themselves as Slbom and Doodle.

Dom is SO hysterical isn't he? And I love Elijah's open affection for Billy. I haven't re-read the transcript recently but I remember him telling Billy that he misses him so much. (very sweet)

Yeah it does make one nostalgic for the days gone by. I adore watching them grow and mature into beautiful young men but I do get all mushy thinking of them back in those days. I fell in the love with the cast first (via the Extended DVD doco's on FOTR) which made me fall in love with the movies. I think if I hadn't been so touched by the love they had for each other, the movies themselves wouldn't have meant as much to me. Ahhhhhhh... *sighs*
